Product Reviews: Eye Creams
Dr. Hauschka Daily Revitalizing Eye Cream : Love it. I use it at night. You only need a drop under each eye and on each eyelid. I apply it with a cotton swab. It goes on smoothly without dragging, and yet is not greasy and doesn't seep into my eyes.
Laura Mercier firming eye cream: It's amazing to me that such a rich cream can be used under makeup. But it can. It's also great at night. Doesn't creep into your eyes and make everything look blurry, it stays where it's put. Love the stuff.
Mary Kay TimeWise Age-Fighting Eye Cream:: Rich and luscious. I'll always keep it in my anti-aging arsenal.
Avon Anew Force Extra Eye Cream: I'm about halfway through my first jar, and so far - I like it. I can't say for sure that any wrinkles have actually disappeared, but I do believe they've become less visible. Less deep, perhaps? I think it's fairly "stong," because you're only supposed to apply it once daily, and even then only to the under-eye area.
Aubrey Organics Lumessence rejuvenating eye creme: Not too thick, so it works under makeup as well as at night. The top listed ingredients are wheat protein, oat protein, wheat extract, organic lavender-glycerin, and organic moisturizing liposomes. It makes me feel wonderful, and it's vegan.
Alba green tea eye gel: I like eye gels because they feel refreshing, especially in the morning. At the same time they impart moisture. I put it on when I wake up. Besides green tea it also contains aloe vera, and it's also vegan.
Luxiva Preventage Firming Eye Creme SPF 15 by Merle Norman : I use it only for day because I just don't like sleeping with SPF anything on my face. I like it. Although it's a medium-heavy cream, it amazingly works well under makeup. In fact, some of my under-eye concealers go on more smoothly because of the cream's richness. If you use it on your upper lids for daytime, use it sparingly and apply an eye shadow base over it. Well worth the extra steps for anyone who likes to be always protected with great creams.
Luxiva Triple Action Eye Gel by Merle Norman: Love the coolness and gentleness I feel when I put it on. Like the Alba green tea gel, it's refreshing in the morning. I slather it on between serious serum applications, whenever my eye area feels dry. It's a product I hope never to be without.
Avalon Organics Revitalizing Eye Gel in Lavender: On the jar it says "Renewal and vitality for sensitive skin." It seems to have quite a bit of muscle, and does claim to do some firming, as well as hydrating. I like it. I found it to be quite strong - and remember that's just one woman's personal experience - so I use it perhaps once a week instead of every day.
MyChelle Fabulous Eye Cream: On their site, MyChelle recommends this eye cream for mature skin. I like it, but it seems to me to be more for slightly younger skin. The texture is smooth and creamy, and it goes on easily, without pulling at the eye area. I actually use it as a daytime eye cream for my upper lids. I find that it helps keep my eyemakeup in place - it's not oily at all, but it does have some moisturizing qualities. That, to me, is perfect for upper eyelids during the day. The other good thing about it - worn under the eyes or on the eyelids - is that it sinks in and doesn't look greasy. Essential if you have someone who sees what you look like without makeup, or when you wake up. For me, though, it doesn't have enough moisture for nighttime under eye "work." As an aside, you can also use this (and a tiny drop from the tube goes a long way) as an upper lip moisturizer, helping to keep those tiny lines from developing. Again, it's good for daytime because it doesn't "show."
H20+ Eye Oasis™ Moisture Replenishing Treatment: Talk about muscle! And yet it's light-weight and can be used day or night. I like using it during the day on my upper lids because although it's moisturizing, it's also oil-free. So it doesn't interfere with eye shadow.
Aveda Pure Vital TM Moisture Eye Creme: I found it to be very calming. It moisturizes without weighing you down, and can be used night or day. I don't know if it's just me, but it really did seem to soften the look of the lines around my eyes. The main ingredients are aloe extract, echinacea, red clover, seaweed extract, and vitamin E.
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Gel
: Absorbs quickly, which I like, and yet it's very hydrating. Best of both worlds. It contains arnica, a botanical used to soothe and soften sensitive skin - and eyebright, a botanical with firming qualities. As with most skin products, you have to use it regularly to see results.

H2O Sea Results Eye Mender Plus: Light-weight, smooth and silky. But the best quality of this luscious cream is that it soaks into the skin, rather than being emollient (greasy). So although I got it as a night cream, it can be used in the morning before makeup.
